Are these frames authentic or replicas?

-        YES, all of our products are 100% authentic.  We are authorized retailers for every brand that we sell.

Do you accept health insurance for payment?

-        No, our website will not accept health insurance as direct means of payment.  However, at your request we can provide you with a detailed, itemized receipt which you can contact your insurance company about to seek reimbursement. 

What is single vision?

-        Single vision prescription lenses have one single prescription across their entire surface:

• Distanceà to see far away.  Ex: Driving, Watching Television, playing sports
• Intermediateà to see arms length.  Ex: Computer viewing.
• Readingà to see close up.  Ex: Reading a Book, magazine, newspaper etc.

What is a bi-focal?

-        A bi-focal is a lens which has two ranges of vision: Distance viewing on the top, and a window (line) with your reading prescription.

What is a tri-focal?

-        A tri-focal is a lens which has three ranges of vision: Distance viewing on the top, intermediate and reading prescription on one lens segmented by lines.

What is a progressive?

-        A progressive lens is a “no-line bi-focal.”  The lenses will not have lines on there showing the outline for each of the viewing areas.  Progressive lenses allow a smooth, comfortable transition from one distance to another.

If my frames are rimless what lens thickness should I choose?

-        For rimless frames, choosing a polycarbonate lens is the most recommended because it is impact resistant and can withstand the drilling procedures which rimless frames undergo to mount the lenses.  (An additional custom drill fee may be requested upon inspection of customer own frames after inspecting your product in our laboratory).

What does an anti-reflective coating do?

-        Anti-reflective coatings help to reduce glare issues commonly caused by computers, televisions, fluorescent lighting, and even headlights while driving at night.  Anti-reflectives help aid in the reduction of headaches and fatigued eyes while wearing prescription lenses for duration of time.

What is a PD?

-        A PD is the measurement for the distance between your Pupils.

-        You can have a Distance PD and a Near PD written on your prescription (not always given by doctors.)

-        If you have 2 PD numbers example: 32 OD and 33 OS, to get your total PD simply ADD the numbers together.  In this case, the PD would be 65.

My PD (pupillary distance) is not on my prescription, what do I do?

-        You can simply call where you had your last eye exam and see if they have this information on file.

-        If you are sending us your frames for lens replacement and they have an older prescription in them which is yours we can get the PD from those lenses.

-        You  can easily measure your PD by following these steps:   

• Method 1: Have your assistant stand at arm's length away from you. Place a ruler ABOVE your eyes and have your assistant measure the distance from the center of one pupil to the center of the other pupil.
• Method 2:  Place an older flat pair of glasses on. Have your assistant use a non-permanent marker and dot the pupil of both eyes. Take the glasses off and measure the distance from one dot to the next.

What is CYL and AXIS, because my prescription does not have that?

-        If your prescription does not have a CYL or AXIS for either or both eyes, then you do not need to select any values in the prescription order form.  CYL and AXIS if your eye has astigmatism correction.  If one eye has CYL and AXIS values and the other does not, only enter the numbers into the form for the eye which is prescribed.

My prescription under SPH looks like the doctor wrote “pl” or “plano,” what does that mean?

-        “Pl” or “plano” means that this eye in particular does not have a SPH value.  In the order form you would select for 0.00 as the value to represent PLANO.

Do transitions lenses have UV protection?

-        Yes, transition lenses have UVA and UVB protection built into them.  However, for additional coverage you can add on a UV coating or purchase any of the Crizal coatings.  Crizal coatings have anti-glare, scratch resistance and UV protection all in one coating!

What is the difference between polarized lenses and transition lenses?

-        Transition lenses have the beneficial feature of being clear while indoors and turn to BROWN or GRAY outdoors when exposed to sunlight.  Transitions have UVA and UVB protection.  They come in colors: Brown or Gray.  (Basic transitions do not turn inside of a vehicle).  Please see our site as we do offer various transition lenses such as: Transitions, Transitions XTRActive, and Transitions Vantage.

-        Polarized lenses are dark in color at all times.  Perfect for driving, sports persons, or fishermen.  Polarized lenses come in Brown or Grey.  They provide glare reduction, true color perception, clarity of vision and completely block UV rays, providing 100% UV protection – reducing potential vision damage

What are the differences between the Crizal coatings?

-        Crizal Alizeà Like all Crizal coatings, this coating has high-quality anti-glare features.  It  also has UV protection with SPF 25.  Helps prevent oil, water and smudges from sticking to your lenses to provide you with amazingly clear vision. 

-        Crizal Avance with Scotchguardàhas the MOST scratch resistance durability.  This coating too has anti-glare and UV SPF 25 protection.  Avance has dust and fingerprint repellent qualities.  

-        Crizal Sapphire UVà Crizal’s newest coating which has the clearest no-glare lenses ever!  It has all the same benefits of Crizal Avance plus is strongly recommended to meet “visual demands that digital devices place on your eyes.” (Digital devices being computers, smartphones, TVs and video games).

I live nearby, would it be possible if I can stop in and drop off my glasses or pick them up?

-        Unfortunately, we are a closed office due to the customer service and laboratory being on site we do not allow for any walk-ins. 

Do you sell contact lenses?

-        No, we do not directly retail contact lenses.
